  • Fenway Health: The Fenway Institute | Works to make life healthier for the people in the LGBTQIA+ community, people living with HIV/AIDS, and the broader population.   • The GLMA Handbook on LGBT Health | A comprehensive resource bringing the full scope of LGBT health concerns, prevention, and treatment options into clear and approachable language. Written by LGBT healthcare professionals, the Handbook also explores the impact of public policy, political, and resource/funding issues on the health and well-being of LGBT people. This is a paid resource.

  • Gay and Transgender Patients to Doctors: We′ll Tell. Just Ask | This is a New York Times article discussing the importance of tracking patients’ gender identity and sexual orientation. “By knowing whether a patient is lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or straight, say public health experts, clinicians can be more alert to a person’s medical needs and more thoughtful in interactions. If hospitals report statistics on all patients, health care disparities among L.G.B.T. patients can be identified and redressed more effectively.”

  • Largest Study to Date: Transgender Hormone Treatment Safe | An article by Kathleen Louden discussing the results of a study that found that when using the guidelines from the Endocrine Society [“Endocrine Treatment of Transsexual Persons”], there are few comorbidities and only mostly minor side effects with cross-sex hormone treatment.
